Misting Treatment
Unfortunately, it’s all too common to see pest control companies, mosquito companies, and public mosquito control projects applying broadcast kill-on-contact pesticides with no specific target area in mind, hoping to control the mosquito population. The hope is that mosquitoes will be caught by the cloud and killed, but even in a best-case scenario, only a few adult mosquitoes that are out looking for food will be eliminated. Meanwhile, overusing insecticides can wreak havoc on the local environment and kill off many other beneficial insects.
But there’s a better way! Using cutting-edge training and products, we bring a more modern approach to mosquito control. Our technicians know where to look to find mosquito breeding and resting sites, which is crucial for meaningful long-term control. Treatment includes using a mixture of products, including an insect growth regulator (IGR) to these sites. This eliminates the adults and disrupts every stage of the mosquito life cycle.
Our products are also specially formulated to gradually release over time so that you can get full protection until we’re back for the next treatment the following month.
Misting treatment is also effective against ticks later in the year when they begin to climb onto plants and get exposed to it. Until then, they are mostly underneath leaf litter and other detritus. This is why we also offer a granular treatment specifically designed for Deer ticks (Black-legged Ticks) in spring and summer (see below).
Granular Treatment for Ticks
Our granular treatment is designed to penetrate the soil and eliminate ticks living in your yard. These are mainly deer ticks - if you see ticks inside your home, those are likely dog ticks and will need a liquid treatment inside the structure (see below). Granules are applied to common areas of deer tick activity, typically by treelines, under bushes, and around mulch beds. The granules break down over time when contacted by water and eliminate any ticks taking shelter nearby. If no rain is predicted within the next few days, we recommend lightly watering the granules so that they can begin to take effect.
If ticks in the yard are your main concern, we heavily recommend combining the granular treatment with our misting treatment to get the best coverage. We give a discount to customers who purchase both services.

Interior Liquid Treatment for Dog Ticks
If ticks are inside your home, you’re probably looking at dog ticks (Brown legs instead of Black). They’re commonly found around pet beds and may have been brought in from outside, but they’re happy to live inside where they can get their meals more reliably. We’ll need to do a liquid treatment inside the home to eliminate ticks inside.
We discount interior liquid treatments if you are already a misting or granule tick treatment customer. Premier Plan customers will receive this interior treatment at no charge.
