Ticks Cancel Wachusett Reservoir Walk

As we have mentioned before, the 2018 tick season is off to a bad start. Tick populations are very high in the Worcester area. They are so high in fact that Wachusett Reservoir, Tower Hill Botanic Garden cancelled their Worcester Tree Initiative nature walk that was scheduled for May 17 after the walk leader found 23 ticks on him after scouting the one mile route.

The Worcester Tree Initiative website states: “Due to an unreasonable risk presented by the spike in the tick population the walk has been cancelled. Plans to reschedule later in the year are being discussed. “
